Dean Windass reckons that signing Lewis Dunk from Brighton and Hove Albion would be shrewd business from Tottenham.
According to The Sun, the 29-year-old was linked with a move to north London last summer, but the 6 ft 4 colossus ended up staying with Graham Potter’s side, whilst Spurs’ main defensive addition was Joe Rodon from Swansea.

Despite Rodon’s arrival and other signings made by Jose Mourinho, Tottenham are still in desperate need of at least one centre-back having suffered at the back last season, conceding 45 goals having kept just 12 clean sheets on the way.
Spurs are already in the race to sign Dunk’s Brighton teammate Ben White, but the experienced defender would likely cost significantly less than the former Leeds loanee.
Whilst Dunk isn’t the glamourous name that perhaps some Tottenham fans are expecting, but he’s missed just six percent of Brighton’s Premier League games across the previous four seasons and has proved himself as a reliable figure at this level, which is why Windass has been singing his praises.

“He’s a leader, he’s a no-nonsense defender, he gets you goals from set-pieces.
“I think if they want to sign him, he will play, he’s not going to go and not play. Daniel Levy knows more than what we do, and he knows the manager and they’re saying ‘yes, is Lewis Dunk on your shopping list?’ then yeah, he will play, course he will.”
