Mark Goldbridge ripped into Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s performance and subsequent future at Manchester United.

Wan-Bissaka played the first half of United’s friendly loss against Cadiz as Erik ten Hag looks to build fitness back into the players who didn’t feature in the World Cup.

The 25-year-old’s fall at Old Trafford saw him fail to be given any hint of a chance at making Gareth Southgate’s squad, with him previously failing to even pick up a senior England cap whilst first-choice right-back in Manchester.

Wan-Bissaka’s fallen completely out of favour at United with ten Hag clearly not a fan of what the £50m signing offers at full-back, instead picking former outcast Diogo Dalot, limiting the former Crystal Palace man to just four minutes of Premier League action all season.

But with the Portuguese starring for his nation in the World Cup, Wan-Bissaka has been presented with a chance to impress the Dutchman alongside Brandon Williams, with the pair starting at either full-back against Cadiz, but his performance left Goldbridge in no doubt of his future as he ripped into the Englishman’s display on The United Stand.

“Now you can put that down to the fact that they both (Williams) know they’re for sale, you can put it down to the fact they haven’t played for five months, you can put it down to the fact they’re simply not good enough,” Goldbridge said.

TIF Thoughts on Goldbridge’s comments…

After The Sun reported in November that United are willing to let Wan-Bissaka leave on loan, he hasn’t played a minute until the friendly, not even selected when Dalot was suspended against Fulham before the World Cup.

His decline at Old Trafford has been incredibly rapid as he featured in 35 and 34 games in his first two campaigns in Manchester, but since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s departure, he’s played just nine league games in over a year.

Ten Hag has been an uncompromising figure since his arrival and looks set to banish Wan-Bissaka in January with his high standards clearly not met by the 25-year-old.
