Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has been linked with a move to Saudi side Al-Ittihad, who have reportedly offered to make the Egyptian winger the highest-paid player in the Saudi Pro League. We’ve already seen some eye-opening figures paid out for some of the biggest names in world football, and Salah could be the next player to sign up to a Saudi Arabian side.
Salah has been with Liverpool since 2017, and has scored 187 goals in 307 appearances for the Reds. He’s won multiple trophies which includes the Premier League, and the Champions League on two occasions, but his time at Anfield could soon be coming to an end if he’s tempted by a move away from Liverpool before the summer transfer window reaches a conclusion.
Liverpool simply must do all they can to keep Salah at the club, as at this stage of the transfer window, they’d be cutting it fine when it comes to finding a potential replacement for their star man. His goalscoring record speaks for itself, and even though some might argue that he’s past his best years, Salah would leave a sizeable void in the Liverpool team if he was to depart.
He scored 30 goals in 51 appearances for Liverpool in the 2022/23 season, as they finished fifth in the Premier League, which was a disappointing season as a collective for Jurgen Klopp’s men, who struggled for consistency in terms of their results throughout the league campaign. The Reds have made a relatively strong start to the new Premier League season, and you’d imagine that Jurgen Klopp will be doing all he can to retain Salah’s services for the foreseeable future.
Experts at mybettingsites.co.uk have revealed that Salah is priced at 8/1 on Sky Bet to finish as the Premier League top goalscorer for the 2023/24 season, which comes after he netted his first goal of the season against Bournemouth recently. Below, we’ve provided the betting odds for the rest of the frontrunners for the 2023/24 Premier League golden boot.
- Erling Haaland @ 2/5
- Marcus Rashford @ 16/1

Liverpool already have some impressive attacking options, but they’re a team in rebuild, and Salah’s experience is certainly needed moving forwards. He’s already shown his quality at this level, and will be one of the first names on the team-sheet, so it should be a no-brainer for the club to do everything they can to keep him at the club, even if that is to offer him a new contract, with his current deal at Anfield being set to expire in the summer of 2025.
