A whole host of Newcastle United fans are buzzing as links to Ibrahim Sangare have emerged on Twitter.
Sangare is just 24 years old but has played in both the Europa League and Champions League, so he could provide some top-level quality to a midfield that is currently relying on a £40 million Joelinton to carry them.
Will Newcastle sign a striker before Saturday?
Yes!
No!
The Ivory Coast international has featured heavily this season for PSV Eindhoven having started all but six games across all competitions, and his performances have ended up impressing relegation-threatened Newcastle, with the Daily Mail claiming the Magpies are keen on signing him.
A lot of Newcastle fans are delighted to be linked with Sangare on Twitter.
What have these Newcastle fans been saying?
“This would be a quality signing”
“If you were to build the kind of midfielder we need right now, Sangare is it. A strong, tall Vieira-style DM that can tackle, take the ball forward and has the vision and technical ability to create goals and pick out teammates. We should have signed him the summer he went PSV…!”
“Can confirm this guy would be a big upgrade from Hayden we’ve been dying for a DM that’s decent on the ball this guy ticks the boxes”
“The next cheick tiote (rip)”
“100 % what we need”
“Yes this lads the next kante”
“He’s a beast “
The problem with signing someone such as Sangare is nothing to do with his ability, as he currently averages 3.2 tackles per game in the league which is the third-best in the Dutch top flight, but the fact that he is away with Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations so would miss a considerable amount of games this month.
