Former Southampton executive vice-chairman Les Reed believes Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy will consider appointing Graham Potter as the club’s next manager.
Jose Mourinho was sacked earlier this season, with Ryan Mason appointed as interim manager as Levy looks to appoint the Portuguese’s successor. Mason guided the club to seventh in the Premier League table, and qualification for the Europa Conference League.
Various managers have been linked, including ex-Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, and Potter is regarded as a candidate according to reports.

Reed believes that Potter has done well during his time in England’s leagues, having managed both Swansea City and now Brighton & Hove Albion, having returned from Sweden, where he managed Ostersund for seven years.
As a result, he thinks Levy would consider a swoop to bring the 46-year-old to the club, as he has followed in the footsteps of Roy Hodgson, in terms of building his reputation abroad before coming back to England to make a real impact.
Speaking exclusively to This Is Futbol, he said: “Graham is a classic example, another Roy Hodgson type coach, where it wasn’t happening for him as a coach, went abroad, was successful, developed and learned a lot about coaching and so on. Less in the limelight but successful and came back to the UK.
“Has had two good jobs, done a good job, shown his qualities as a coach on the grass. Developed players, again, Swansea had a very much Tottenham style about them and Brighton have now.
“So that will have impressed Daniel and the people at Tottenham in terms of him being a fit. I think that is strongly a possibility.
“The key to it is how do you support coaches with less experience, particularly in the top six end of the Premier League?”
