Arsenal have reportedly made a bid to sign Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo according to Fabrizio Romano.
The midfielder has found himself on the radar of numerous top-flight clubs in recent weeks such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.
With days left until the January transfer window shuts, the north London club have made a move to potentially land a deal for the Ecuadorian.
In a recent Twitter post, Romano had this to say on the matter.
He said: “EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal have submitted £60m bid to sign Moises Caicedo as new midfielder #AFC
“Chelsea had £55m verbal proposal rejected this January as Brighton hope to keep the player — but Arsenal are now pushing. Negotiations enter into key stages for Caicedo’s future.”
The 21-year-old joined Brighton back in February 2021 in a £4.5m deal from Ecuadorian side Independiente del Valle.
During his time with the Seagulls, the midfielder has made 31 senior appearances, scoring two goals and delivering three assists along the way.
Having made 18 league appearances for the south coast club this season, it’s clear that the Ecuador international is a key figure for Roberto De Zerbi.
Would you be happy to see Arsenal sign Moises Caicedo?

No
Across those league games, Caicedo has averaged the highest total of tackles per game (2.9) at Brighton, as well as the highest average of interceptions per game (1.4) out of players that have featured in more than two matches.
His overall performances have earned him a season rating of 6.96/10 from WhoScored, making him the fourth-highest rated player at the club.
Described as an “eye-catching” player by Enrico Castro-Montes, who also said that the youngster is like a mixture of N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba in terms of his attributes, the Brighton star would certainly offer Mikel Arteta a very capable midfield figure that has the time ahead of him to be a long-term fixture at the club.
With Arsenal already dealing with Brighton this month by taking Leandro Trossard away from this, perhaps this connection may help the Gunners land a deal for Caicedo in the coming days.
