Former Premier League player and current talkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has shared his thoughts on Tottenham Hotspur attacker Richarlison and his performances for the north London club.

Spurs splashed out £60m to sign the Brazilian from Everton during the previous summer transfer window.

However, with just 11 starts to his name across 22 appearances in all competitions, the 25-year-old has only scored two goals, both of which came in Spurs’ 2-0 win over Marseille in the Champions League back in September.

How well do you know where these Spurs signings came from? Take our quiz to find out! Firstly, where did Dimitar Berbatov arrive from?

Having started the Lilywhites’ two previous Premier League games, the Brazil international has found himself on the end of some criticism.

Speaking to Football Insider, Agbonlahor had this to say about the current state of affairs at Spurs on the pitch and Richarlison’s inclusion in the team.

He said: “I would stick with the winning team for now. Son [Heung-min] has had an impact off the bench in the last two games. But Richarlison has got to wake up. He wasn’t great against West Ham or Chelsea – and that’s been a theme of his season.

“When you watch him, you struggle to see what he’s good at. He’s got no standout attributes. He’s not quick, he’s not a great finisher, he can’t hold the ball up, he can’t pass that well.

“I feel that he could be someone that Spurs look to move on. He’s not showing himself to be good enough for where they want to go.”

Spurs’ recent 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United in the FA Cup saw Richarlison fail to grab his opportunity to show that he can be an effective attacking figure for his side.

Has Richarlison been disappointing this season?

No

With 65 minutes under his belt in the centre-forward position, the former Toffees star had 32 touches of the ball in total, fewer than any other Spurs player that started the game.

In addition to that, the attacker only had three attempts at goal, two of which were off target and the other one was blocked.

In terms of his league performances, the summer recruit has a rather underwhelming season rating of 6.45/10 from WhoScored, making him one of the lowest-rated players at Spurs that has started more than two league games this season.

Taking all of this into account, it’s clear that Richarlison has not had the best debut season at the north London club so far.

However, with Agbonlahor suggesting the club may look to sell him in the upcoming summer transfer window, we feel that this would be harsh on the player and make his move to Tottenham a waste of time for all parties, especially if they aren’t likely to recoup the money they paid for him.
