Sky Sports reporter Tom White has claimed that Everton will face competition for Arnaut Danjuma.

The Daily Mail reported that Frank Lampard’s side have approached Villarreal over the Netherlands winger, who has previous Premier League experience with Bournemouth.

Since making the move to Spain, he has excelled, providing 13 goal contributions in 23 matches in La Liga last term. However, he’s had a difficult second season, only firing in two goals in the league for Villarreal thus far.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, White confirmed Everton are in for the winger, but they face competition from Nottingham Forest.

He stated: “Everton are hoping to bring in new players this month. One player we understand they’re interested in is Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma. They face competition, though. It’s our understanding Nottingham Forest are expressing an interest in the 25-year-old as well.”

We believe that despite a poor start to the 2022/23 campaign, Danjuma would bring firepower and would boost Everton’s attacking options.

This is a player who knows what the Premier League is like from his time at Bournemouth, not to mention a relegation battle. Since suffering relegation he’s only gotten better, with his impressive season in the Championship earning him the move to Spain.

The Toffees need goals, as only two sides have a lower tally than their 14 goals from 18 league matches.

Having said that, Everton shouldn’t blow all their funds on the winger, they need to bring in another striker. Lampard only has Neal Maupay and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (a player with a worrying injury history) at his disposal.

If they can bring in Danjuma and perhaps another forward, that’ll be a major boost for their hopes of Premier League survival.
