Harry Redknapp is reportedly open to taking the current vacant manager role at Leeds United.
Earlier this month, the Yorkshire club relieved Jesse Marsch of his duties following a disappointing period of results.
With Michael Skubala taking temporary charge of the team while the club looks to hire a new permanent boss, the Whites have apparently been unsuccessful in trying to secure names such Andoni Iraola and Arne Slot for the position.
However, it has been revealed that a new, more recognisable name has emerged in regards to potentially becoming the news Leeds manager.
According to a recent report from The Mirror, Redknapp would be willing to come out of retirement to take the Leeds job if the club asks him to.
The report also adds that the former Tottenham Hotspur boss would be open to getting involved in a similar situation to Neil Warnock, who has recently come out of retirement to take charge of Huddersfield Town on a short-term basis.
At the age of 75, Redknapp has had numerous roles at a variety of clubs across the country, but has not been a manager since he left Birmingham City in 2017.
With 642 Premier League games under his belt as a manager, the Englishman has won 237, drawn 167 and lost 238.
Would you take Harry Redknapp as Leeds' new manager?
Yes
No
In terms of a potential return to top-flight management with Leeds, it seems that the decision to hire Redknapp would be down to them if they feel he’d be a suitable fit. And, afterall, he already loves one of their new signings in Max Wober.
In our view, given the significant time away from coaching he’s had, we feel that it would be better for Leeds to appoint someone who is more up to date with current day-to-day club football management, regardless of the veteran’s vast experience.
Moving forward, with Skubala focusing on what’s happening on the pitch for the time being, the Leeds hierarchy should do all they can to bring in an appropriate long-term manager that can get the team on the right track and away from the relegation zone.
