Presenter Conor McGilligan has slammed the most recent rumours linking Leeds United with a possible January move for Che Adams.
With Premier League football now back and the winter market set to open soon, there should be plenty to be excited about for fans over the coming weeks.
And it seems as though Leeds could be in the market for a new signing or two. Indeed, as per Phil Hay of The Athletic, Southampton striker Adams could be a key target.
The journalist wrote: “Never totally discount Southampton forward Che Adams, either – he’s been discussed at Elland Road before.”
However, this doesn’t seem to have inspired much excitement from McGilligan. He called the links ‘boring’ while discussing them on the One Leeds Fan Channel.
Indeed, the presenter said: “Che Adams – that name just gets circulated consistently, it’s boring, it’s never going to happen. Che Adams is getting circulated all the time. We hear the same names.”
TIF Thoughts on Che Adams and Leeds…
To be fair to McGilligan, the club have been linked with Adams before. For instance, The Sun tipped him with a possible switch to Leeds in the summer but that move never materialised.
And seeing as they were heavily linked with Cody Gakpo only for that deal to fall through – with the PSV man now set to join Liverpool – it’s easy to see why he might be sceptical.
Adams – hailed “sensational” earlier in the season – does have eight goals in all competitions for the Saints this year, so it’s easy to see what he could bring to Leeds if a transfer was to be completed.
For now, though, a deal doesn’t seem that close, so it’s probably wise not to get your hopes up too much at this stage – unless the prospect of Adams arriving at Leeds is underwhelming, of course.
Most of us leeds fans know how bad we really are and how desperately we need to fill crucial area’s, but please lets get serious we are not quiet that desperate just yet. Although one area we need to address but nobody’s willing to talk about is MANAGER, Marsch may be a nice guy and all that but he is a shit premiership manager he really is way out of his depth and i hope we can escape relegation in spite of his inadequacies
