Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson told Jude Bellingham not to go to Real Madrid.
The two English players were spotted alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold by a Real Madrid fan out in Qatar who recorded the trio amid transfer links to the Spanish giants.
The fan began talking to the pair who linked up to score England’s opening goal against Senegal, telling the 19-year-old he was the best centre-midfielder in the world, which prompted Bellingham to sheepishly deny and insinuate to Henderson who was out of shot.
He swiftly told the Borussia Dortmund midfielder to join his beloved Madrid before the 32-year-old stepped in and replied to the fan, saying: “No, not Madrid. Not Madrid.”
Henderson and the fan then laughed about Liverpool’s loss to Los Blancos in the Champions League final as he quipped back at the 72-time England international, he then returned back to Bellingham who replied “we will see” to the fans claim if he joined Madrid he would win the Ballon d’Or.
TIF Thoughts on Henderson’s reaction…
Bellingham has been the recipient of increased speculation on his future as he put in another stellar performance in the Three Lions midfield against Senegal, adding his first assist of the tournament from a perfectly weighted cross to the goal-scorer Henderson.
Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg revealed last month that Liverpool and Madrid are both involved in a fight alongside Manchester City for Bellingham whose price tag has reportedly been set at €150m (£129.7m), with him also being the Reds’ top target.
The pair have struck up a relationship off the pitch as well as on with Henderson seemingly playing the agent role well in Qatar.
