West Ham United are reportedly eyeing up a potential move for Troyes striker Mama Balde.
They have already reportedly made an offer worth £25m in total to try and sign Lorient striker Terem Moffi, but he is thought to have a £30m price tag.
If they fail to reach an agreement for him, then they could turn to other targets, with David Moyes clearly looking for more firepower up top as his side are the joint-second lowest scorers in the Premier League.
As per French news outlet Foot Mercato, Balde has also ‘caught the eye’ of the East London club, and is valued at €15m (£13.3m).
TIF thoughts on Balde to West Ham…
If the London Stadium outfit fail to reach an agreement for Moffi, then Balde would be a cheaper alternative.
Hailed as ‘really strong’ and ‘difficult to handle’ by his team-mate Tristan Dingome, the Guinea-Bissau international has an impressive eight goals and four assists in 17 games in Ligue 1 so far this season (Transfermarkt), and at 27 years of age, is about to enter his prime.
Nonetheless, Balde also does his defensive work well, ranking in the 98th percentile for tackles and 97th for blocks per game of all forwards in Europe’s top five leagues over the past year (FBRef), and so could be a good fit for the Irons.
