West Ham United would be making a ‘good addition’ if they were able to sign Aston Villa striker Danny Ings this month, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.

Ings appears to be out of favour with Villa manager Unai Emery, given that he has only started one of the four games since play resumed after the World Cup, but he has proven that he has still got an eye for goal, netting in the 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

As such, rumours have started to emerge linking the striker with a move away from the London Stadium, and the likes of Everton, Southampton, AFC Bournemouth and West Ham have all been named as potential suitors.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT about the Englishman making a switch to the London Stadium, Crook said:

“If it gets to nearer the deadline and West Ham haven’t got a striker in, what a good addition he could be for them in terms of the forward line.

“I think Danny Ings is one of those players who can afford to wait and see what offers are there late in the window. He doesn’t necessarily need to nibble at the first offer.”

TIF thoughts on Ings joining West Ham United…

While the 30-year-old is not one for the future, he is a proven Premier League striker, and could be exactly what David Moyes needs to help dig his side out of relegation trouble, given that Gianluca Scamacca has so far struggled to adapt to English football, scoring just three goals in the top flight.

Lauded as a ‘phenomenal finisher’ by pundit Noel Whelan, the forward has displayed his talent in front of goal for a number of years, registering 68 goals in 188 Premier League appearances, more than one every three games, a very impressive record.

The Hammers are currently bottom of the league in terms of the amount of big chances they’ve created, so a creative player may need to come in alongside Ings to get him firing, but bringing the striker in would still be a very good bit of business.
