In an exclusive interview with This Is Futbol, Steve Bull has expressed his fears over the possibility of Wolves losing some of their Portuguese stars following Nuno Espirito Santo’s departure.

Nuno, who leaves Wolves after four successful years at the club, signed a whole host of talented Portugal internationals during time tenure at Molineux.

With the help of Jorge Mendes and his agency Gestifute, Nuno was able to sign the likes of Ruben Neves, Pedro Neto and Rui Patricio to build an impressive Portuguese nucleus.

Should Wolves sell Neves?

No way!

No way!

Yes, need to rebuild

Yes, need to rebuild

However, with Nuno no longer the glue, Bull fears that nucleus could now easily fall apart.

“It could be like a can of worms now, couldn’t it?” the former striker said when asked if players such as Neves and Patricio could follow Nuno out of the door.

“One gets out, the other one crawls out, the other one sneaks out. Wherever Nuno goes, is he going to come and take some? What’s he going to do? That’ll be the worst thing for us because we‘re bare-knuckle at the moment.”

The above certainly does look like a possibility, with The Athletic recently reporting that Neves is actually one player at Molineux who could be allowed to leave this summer.

According to the outlet, Wolves are ready to do business at £35m as they plan a rebuild ahead of the new season.
