Former Premier League player Carlton Palmer has hit out at Mino Raiola and believes that the things he comes out with unsettles Paul Pogba and Manchester United.
AS (via 90min) suggests that Raiola won’t discuss the future of Pogba until April, with the Red Devils star current contract due to expire in June next year.
According to French outlet L’Equipe (via TEAMtalk) Pogba wants to extend his stay at Old Trafford and has made no secret of that.
Do you think Paul Pogba will sign a new contract at Manchester United?
Yes
No
Palmer believes that comments from Raiola in the past have unsettled Pogba and also Manchester United, saying to This is Futbol: “There’s a lot of them [agents] who haven’t got the best interests. You look at Raiola, I know he’s a top agent, but you know, all the things he comes out with, Pogba and whatever, it’s unsettling for the player and it’s unsettling for the club.”
Pogba has been Manchester United’s main creative force this season and is joint top of the assist charts in the league with Mohamed Salah as both players have created seven goals for their teammates.
The 28-year-old is in his second spell with the Red Devils, after rejoining the Red Devils from Juventus in 2016 and has 87 goal contributions combined from both his spells with the club, as he has scored 38 and provided 49 assists.
United have been dealt a blow as Pogba has picked up a thigh injury whilst on international duty with France and BBC Sport have reported that he could miss the remainder of this year, with early reports from the France camp suggesting that he will be out for between six and eight weeks.
