Leeds United fans have reacted to Jonjo Shelvey’s claims about the club after the midfielder stated he could never play for the Elland Road outfit.
The Newcastle United midfielder made the comment on the Studs Up podcast revealing: “We played Leeds at St. James’ Park probably about a month ago, and that Rodrigo fella was in the middle. He was meant to be playing centre-midfield, and he was just all over the place.
“I said to him, ‘Geez, can you just stand still for one minute? Because you’re just running around like a nutcase’. Even like some of it was just pointless running. But he goes, ‘I must do, I must do. My manager tells me I must do’. I couldn’t play for Leeds.”
Despite Shelvey earning six England caps throughout his career, he has arguably failed to fulfill his potential, and it was clear on the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Facebook page that the Yorkshire side’s supporters weren’t too upset to hear the 28-year-old rule himself out of a move to the Whites:

Shelvey is better known for his passing ability rather than his stamina or athleticism and is probably correct in his assessment of his suitability to Marcelo Bielsa’s system.
