Leeds United fans have been reacting to the news that Mike Dean will be officiating them when they take on West Ham at the London Stadium on Monday night.
The hosts will be hoping that they can cement their place inside the top four as they continue their quest for Champions League football, but Marcelo Bielsa’s men will have plans to spoil the party.
Dean has only been in charge of one Leeds game this season, the entertaining 1-1 draw with Manchester City back in September. Despite the encouraging result at Elland Road, many supporters of the West Yorkshire side are not feeling too confident about his appointment.
Many fans believe the club’s ‘London curse’ alongside the controversial Dean being in charge has already set the Whites up for defeat:
“Oh great, the limelight hogger”
“Away in London with Mike Dean as referee, what could possibly go wrong?”
“London and Mike Dean? Sounds delightful”
“We were losing anyway, he’s just gonna add to the misery. Go figure”
“Oh joy just what we needed with a away day in London just what will end our London hoodoo right”
“We all know he’s going to make a big mistake. Hopefully in our favour”
“Oh no!”
Leeds have arguably been one of the most entertaining teams in the top flight this season and most games involving Dean are never short of a talking point or two. It should make for an intriguing encounter.
