Fans of Newcastle United have been reacting on Twitter after Simon Jordan labelled some of them ‘mouthy little cowards’ in an explosive rant.
The TalkSport presenter took aim at the Magpies faithful after he received some criticism following an interview with Steve Bruce the previous day.
Are you worried by Wilson's injury issues?
Yes
No
Jordan has previously defended the controversial Newcastle manager despite the St. James’ Park outfit’s struggles this season, suggesting Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola wouldn’t do a better job than the 60-year-old.
The interview with Bruce caused more uproar amongst the Newcastle fans after they felt the former Aston Villa boss hid behind excuses, however, Jordan didn’t take too kindly (via @NUFC360) to the condemnation, and the supporters have responded in kind.
“Oh no Simon doesn’t like our club, how will we cope!!”
“So once again the fans get it in the neck for criticising the awful job Bruce has done”
“This is disgusting. Slightly speechless after watching this to be honest. How is a high profile presenter allowed to call the whole fan base mouthy little cowards on a high profile radio station?”
“Simon Jordan has a different point of view and therefore doesn’t like us for it. Truly gutted.”
“We’re rent free inside his head”
“Mouthy little cowards, he says from his studio.”
“Beginning to? He’s clearly hated us for a while now”
Bruce has faced fan protests throughout his time at Newcastle, with the supporters voicing their displeasure at the club’s performances and results in the Premier League. A run of just two wins in 20 games earlier in the campaign appeared to drag them into a relegation battle, but an impressive turnaround has ensured their safety with three games to spare.
