A large number of Leeds United fans have flocked to Twitter to share their anger at the latest announcement ahead of their Premier League clash at the weekend.
It has been announced referee Mike Dean will be officiating the Whites’ clash on the weekend away to West Ham United at the London Stadium.
Is Mike Dean the worst referee in the league?
Yes
No
Alongside Dean, Craig Pawson will be the official acting as VAR on the day, with Darren Cann the VAR assistant as Marcelo Bielsa’s side look for revenge after their defeat last Sunday.
The West Yorkshire side made the same trip recently in the FA Cup and suffered a 2-0 defeat to the Hammers, but fans were not filled with confidence in the latest announcement ahead of the game.
What did these Leeds fans have to say?
“Get the game called off now quickly”
53-year-old Dean has taken charge of 31 Leeds games over his career, in which the Whites have won on just 11 occasions, and which have seen 52 yellow cards handed out to Leeds players (via Transfermarkt).
Dean has only been on the pitch for one Leeds game this season back in September, while he was involved in their 4-1 defeat against Crystal Palace as the VAR last term.
And it is no surprise these fans responded with such frustration given Dean ruled Patrick Bamford’s goal against Palace as offside because of his outstretched arm.
