Lots of Newcastle United fans have been sharing their disappointment to the latest transfer update to emerge on Twitter regarding Sven Botman.
It is believed the Toon have been in talks with Ligue 1 side Lille over the possibility of signing the Dutchman this month having already added Kieran Trippier to their defence.
Will NUFC have a new CB for the Watford game?
Yes
No
However, it has been reported any deal for Botman this month is all-but over with the French side pulling the plug on a potential departure having rejected Newcastle’s latest deal.
It is now just a matter of days until the Toon returns to Premier League action with a clash against Watford on the weekend and as of now, only one new addition has arrived on Tyneside which has clearly not impressed the fans.
What did these Newcastle fans have to say?
“Absolute waste of 10 days in the window.”
And having suffered FA Cup embarrassment on the weekend to Cambridge United, these fans are clearly hoping to see their side improved in the coming weeks to battle off the threat of relegation.
However, due to postponements, Eddie Howe’s side have been out of league action since the backend of last year which provided the new owners with an opportunity to add to their squad with the January window now open.
With their defence in clear need of some improvement, this latest setback has clearly come as a real blow to these fans with a clash against one of their relegation rivals on the horizon.
