Many Tottenham Hotspur supporters have flocked to social media in order to respond to a Twitter post from @LastWordOnSpurs regarding the news Luis Campos has left Lille.
Campos has been credited with the discoveries of a number of high-profile players and making huge profits on them in recent years, including the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Bernardo Silva and Nicolas Pepe. The 56-year-old previously worked with Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid and the pair are said to be close friends, prompting the discussion around whether he could be on his way to Spurs.
Rumours emerged in the summer that Campos could have left the Ligue 1 club for Tottenham to reunite with Mourinho, though a switch never materialised as talk of a Spurs approach for the transfer guru was denied.
Manchester United are said to be interested in securing Campos’ services but following news of his departure from the current French leaders, these Spurs fans shared their views in the replies sections.

It’s clear that many of these Spurs fans would love to see the club to move for Campos, however, with Manchester United reportedly in the hunt for a Director of Football, they could face stiff competition from their Premier League rivals if they are both considering him.
In our view, although Campos is now available, there is nothing concrete to suggest that north London will be his next destination so we wouldn’t be getting too carried away just yet.
However, given his track record, it is easy to see why these Spurs fans would be excited to have him at the club.
