Fans of Everton are interested in the potential link between the Toffees and Mikel Arteta.
According to Football Insider, the former Spanish midfielder is a contender to replace Marco Silva as top dog at Goodison Park – with it looking likely he will be relieved of his duties (as per The Express).
With many a firm favourite of the Spaniard, who spent six-and-a-half years at Goodison Park (per Transfermarkt), they wanted to see the move happen.

100% agree with you, people seem to think that Arteta won’t have picked anything up from being the right hand man to 1 of the 2 best managers in the world. But also i would take Rafa and from what I’ve heard he would basically walk back from China to manager in the Prem again.

Go and get him every Evertonian would want him and he has had the best training of the greatest manager of the past 10 years – he knows the club just do it

The 37-year-old featured in Everton blue 209 times over his spell with the Merseyside club, bagging 35 goals and assisting a further 33 (as per Transfermarkt).
Since retiring in 2016, the former midfielder moved straight into coaching with Manchester City to work alongside Pep Guardiola (as per BBC).
Back-to-back Premier League titles later, plus a host of other silverware, and the Spaniard is rumoured to be taking his first steps into management (as per Football Insider).
However, if Arteta was to rejoin the Toffees, Everton supporters wanted another former player to accompany him as his assistant.
Think it has to be him and cahill

What do we think?
While the Spaniard is touted as an integral figure in Guardiola’s City backroom staff (as per The Telegraph), it has been stated that Mikel Arteta will become a manager “sooner or later” in regards to links to Arsenal, so Everton may have a slight chance of possible tempting him at some point in the future.
Only time would tell if the Spaniard would be a success in Merseyside, or even as a manager at all, but three-and-a-half years with Pep Guardiola will have stood him in the best possible stead.
