Journalist Alasdair Gold has recently talked about the future of Tottenham winger Lucas Moura.
Moura arrived at Tottenham from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2018 for a fee of £23 million. The Brazilian featured in Spurs’ friendly win against Colchester United recently, grabbing an assist in the game too.
Should Spurs sell Moura?
Yes
No
Gold talked about Moura when he appeared on the latest Tottenham video from Football.london. The journalist stated that since Moura is a player who carries some value, Spurs could well accept any substantial offers that come in for the Brazilian.
The journalist said: “He’s a player with value, who, if a really big bid came in, I think Spurs would say, ‘okay, well maybe there’s a player who is 29 years old, who we can get a fair wedge for and then put that into other transfers’. But I think if he doesn’t go, this could be a big season for him.”
TIF Thoughts on Moura’s future…
Moura is currently 28 and even though he’s played over 150 games for Tottenham, the winger has scored only 32 times in all competitions for the club. In the previous Premier League season, he found the net only three times.
It shows that perhaps, he doesn’t score enough goals and at 28, he isn’t a young player who may improve drastically in the future. Having said that, the ex-PSG man can play on either flank and can also play as a number ten as well as at centre-forward. So it might be worth keeping him as part of the squad.
