Celtic fans bombarded Scott Brown’s Twitter mentions with complete appreciation after their captain netted two goals in the 5-2 triumph over Hibernian in the Scottish League Cup.
After a goal from Callum McGregor and two from Mohamed Elyounoussi, the Bhoys captain bagged his side’s final two goals to seal the victory.
The win sends the Hoops into December’s final where they’ll take on Old Firm rivals Rangers in a winner-takes-all fight for the trophy.
Brown was inundated with tweets from supporters who welcomed another superb performance from the 34-year-old.

Superb performance. You bossed the midfield and led by example once again Broony. Tremendous. Leadership is often 99% perspiration and only 1% inspiration. You walk the walk and talk the talk #Broony #TheBossOnThePark pic.twitter.com/h3UIycq9Mw

What do we think?
Neil Lennon has revealed how he important Brown has been to the club over the course of the campaign so far and admitted that the 34-year-old has been playing brilliantly (BBC). Many may have felt he should be rested for this game and saved for this week’s Europa League trip to Italy, but this brace certainly displayed his willingness to wow as many fans possible in the twilight stages of his career. Look out, Lazio.
