According to reports from The Independent, the recent sacking of Charlton Athletic manager Karel Fraeye could trigger an auction between Chelsea, Manchester City, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur for highly-rated prospect Ademola Lookman.
The 18-year-old has undergone a meteoric rise since plying his trade with Lambeth-based Waterloo FC last year. He was fast-tracked through the Addicks’ academy ranks and now boasts three goals from his first seven starts at senior level – attracting interest from a wealth of Premier League clubs in the process.

Charlton Athletic boss Karel Fraeye was relieved of his duties yesterday afternoon following a 5-0 defeat to Huddersfield and The Independent claim Chelsea and Manchester City could look to capitalise on the situation by launching bids for the prodigious forward – who they describe as ‘the best young prospect in the Championship’.
But Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are also known admirers and ‘would compete in any action’, whilst South London rivals Crystal Palace have also been mooted as potential suitors by other sources. The 23rd-placed Valley outfit are extremely reluctant to sell Lookman this month but now facing the very real prospect of relegation into League One, The Independent speculate they’ll struggle to turn down offers around the £5million mark.
