Aston Villa may hold an interest in signing Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram, according to journalist Ryan Taylor.
Thuram’s contract with Monchengladbach is expiring at the end of the season, and transfer guru Fabrizio Romano recently told GIVEMESPORT that he is ‘100%’ not going to extend his stay with the Bundesliga club, leading to rumours about his future.
Romano added that ‘many clubs from Italy’ are seeking the Frenchman’s signature, while Chelsea have been told that around £8.8m could be enough to sign him in January.
That said, the Parma-born forward is believed to be holding out for the likes of Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain to come forward (via Manchester Evening News).
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT about a potential move to Villa Park, Taylor said:
“I was actually told there was interest in Marcus Thuram a couple months ago, but weirdly, nothing seems to have come of that. So I don’t know if I was fed rubbish or if there’s just no interest in Thuram at this stage.
“I do think he would be a player that could be really good for Villa, a great fit. Whether he’d be interested in joining is another question altogether.”

Given some of the teams being linked with moves for the attacker, it seems unlikely that Villa would be able to win the race, but he would be a fantastic signing if they were able to do so.
