Some Wolves fans have been praising Diogo Jota following the attacker’s impressive goalscoring performance versus Norwich at the weekend.

Jota managed to score twice in Wolves’ 3-0 Premier League win over Norwich. In addition to his two goals, the attacker played two key passes and made one successful dribble in Sunday’s fixture, according to WhoScored.com. Jota’s performance versus Norwich earned him an impressive overall rating of 8.95 on WhoScored, in addition to the website’s Man of the Match award for Sunday’s game.

The past week has been a prolific one for the Portuguese attacker. Prior to his impressive performance versus Norwich, Jota had scored a hat-trick in Wolves’ 4-0 Europa League win over Espanyol last Thursday evening. This means that Jota has scored an impressive total of five goals in his last two competitive games.

Jota made a Twitter post to celebrate Sunday’s win on Monday morning, which read “Great win yesterday”. Some Wolves fans took the opportunity to show their appreciation for the in-form attacker by posting some appreciative replies to his tweet. Read the positive responses of some Wolves fans to Jota’s post in the tweets below.

What do we think?

Jota’s recent form has earned him WhoScored’s Man of the Match award in both of his last two games. The Portuguese attacker doubled his Europa League goals tally for the season in his last appearance, taking it from three to six goals with his impressive hat-trick. This now puts Jota level with Daichi Kamada, Andraz Sporar, and Alfredo Morelos as the Europa League’s highest scorers for the 2019/20 season so far.

The in-form attacker also became Wolves’ second-highest Premier League goalscorer for the 2019/20 season thanks to his brace versus Norwich last Sunday. It may be fair to say that Jota’s recent form is seeing him become an increasingly important figure for Wolves. Should he continue to deliver similar performances to the ones he has been delivering recently, he could help Wolves have a positive finish to the 2019/20 season.
