Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have taken to Twitter to criticise the performance of Spurs right-back, Serge Aurier, in their Carabao Cup final defeat on Sunday.
So far this season, Aurier has, statistically, been one of Tottenham’s better players in the Premier League, with the 28-year-old scoring two goals and providing one assist over his 17 league fixtures, as well as averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.97 – ranking him as the club’s fourth-best performer in the top flight.
However, after Ryan Mason chose to start the right-back in the 1-0 Carabao Cup final loss against Manchester City, fans of Tottenham appeared far from happy with the display of the Ivory Coast international, with many taking to Twitter to share their feelings on the performance of the £18 million-rated man.
