Having been linked with transfers to either Leicester City or Liverpool recently, young Southampton full back Sam McQueen has reiterated he’s not interested in speculation right now, report IBTimes.
The 21-year-old is embarking on the final 18 months of his contract at St. Mary’s Stadium and the Foxes and Reds had been reported to be keen on taking advantage of this situation.
However, Saints academy product McQueen is clearly focusing on the present when speaking to the Southern Daily Echo recently.
The words of a man who still seems hell bent on fully making the grade with his hometown club, McQueen’s comments should dampen Leicester City and Liverpool’s hopes of landing the player.
Prior to being a substitute in the Saints’ most recent 0-2 loss to Chelsea, McQueen had started three consecutive games under Claude Puel against Inter Milan, Manchester City and Sunderland.
