Still yet to score his first Premier League goal for West Ham United, Italian giants Napoli have reportedly outlined Simone Zaza as a viable transfer option in January, report Sport Witness.
According to Italian sourceĀ Il Mattino, the Stadio San Paolo-based club believe Zaza is the most attainable striking target in January with Liverpool also interested in their number one target Leonardo Pavoletti.
Currently on loan at London Stadium from Juventus with an obligation to buy based upon appearances, Zaza has struggled in England and Napoli reportedly want him to boost their injury-hit frontline.
Summer arrival Arkadiusz Milik faces a lengthy spell out on the sidelines with Manolo Gabbiadini the only real out-and-out striker that Maurizio Sarri can call upon right now.
The report also claims that if they were to follow up on their interest in Zaza, Napoli would only have to deal with West Ham United and not Juventus due to the Italian international triggering a contractual switch after playing one more game.
In a complicating switch, the report also claims that Slaven Bilic’s Hammers may choose not to play Zaza one more time through fear of selling him on a loss in the New Year.
With Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho potentially set to be welcomed back into the fold later this month, Hammers fans will have to watch this space.
