Set to do battle against England for Scotland at Wembley tomorrow night, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has likened Scott Brown to his former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, report Inside Futbol.
With Brown coming out of retirement for tomorrow’s cross-border World Cup Qualifier, Rodgers believes both the Celtic star and Henderson are captains at the very top of their game.
Speaking to the Evening Times, Rodgers claimed: “They are from the same bottle, really. Both brilliant professionals.
The duo may well line up against one another in tomorrow’s Group F encounter and Rodgers will be casting a close eye on his captains past and present when attending Friday’s crunch game.
Having made over 250 Scottish Premiership appearances for the Bhoys since signing from Hibernian back in May 2007, 31-year-old Brown’s £4.4 million transfer was the biggest transaction between two Scottish clubs at the time.
