Aston Villa are ‘speaking’ to Villarreal regarding a possible deal for Arnaut Danjuma this month, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.
The Daily Mail report that Premier League clubs Tottenham, Everton, Bournemouth and Unai Emery’s side are all keen on a move for the forward, who is valued at £45m, before the end of the window.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein has claimed that the 25-year-old has now landed in London having travelled from Spain to discuss a transfer with potential suitors, with a loan move and option or obligation to buy the most likely scenario.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Romano lifted the lid on Villa’s pursuit of Danjuma and revealed that all interested parties are currently in negotiations with the La Liga giants.
“Unai Emery knows the player so well so he could be an option also for Aston Villa. I’m told there is a chance for him to leave in January. So, all these clubs are speaking to Villarreal.”
TIF thoughts on Danjuma to Villa…
Danjuma is no stranger to English football, having previously had a two-year spell at Bournemouth, dubbed a ‘nightmare’ for defenders by Kevin Phillips.
The Dutchman posted 25 goal contributions in 52 appearances for the Cherries, so not only is he prolific in the final third but he will easily be able to adapt to the style of play having already got English top flight experience under his belt.
Danjuma has an existing connection to Emery too, having worked under him during his time at Villarreal, so this alongside the fact he’s reportedly the club’s top target could give the Midlands outfit the advantage in the race for his signature.
