Leeds United are set to ‘keep an eye’ on the situation of Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Adama Traore this month, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Spaniard will be out of contract at Molineux at the end of the season, and having not yet put pen to paper on fresh terms, his future is currently up in the air.

The Whites have been credited with an interest in the 26-year-old and are allegedly keen to bring him to Elland Road before the end of the window, while the winger is said to want to stay in the Premier League.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones claimed that Traore is likely to see out his deal at Wolves, but name-checked Leeds and Tottenham as potential suitors should he leave in January.

“In terms of Adama Traore, it’s looking to me that he’ll probably see out the rest of the season at Wolves and take things from there. But I think both Leeds and Tottenham will keep an eye on his situation just in case Wolves do make signings this month that impacts him.

“The feeling at the moment is that he’ll stay but again, that can change.”

TIF thoughts on Traore to Leeds…

Traore is currently valued at just €15m (£13m), so it would be an absolute bargain for the Yorkshire outfit should they be able to secure a deal around that price.

The Wanderers winger has clocked up 31 goal contributions in the Midlands and currently ranks in the 99th percentile for dribbles completed, form which has seen him dubbed a ‘beast’ by scout Jacek Kulig.

Victor Orta already previously signed Traore at Middlesbrough, and there’s a strong chance that a reunion could be on the cards at some point in 2023.
