Tottenham fans were divided in their reaction to a report that Torino midfielder Sasa Lukic could be one of their summer targets.
According to Italian outlets Tuttosport and Tuttomercatoweb, Spurs have been tracking the Serbian, who plays for Torino.
The reports also say that they could face competition from fellow London outfit Crystal Palace.
Lukic is predominantly a central midfielder but he can also play further forward.
He’s scored three Serie A goals this season and has posted reasonable all-round numbers.
The 24-year-old averages one tackle, 0.8 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per game and boasts an overall passing accuracy of 81.4% (via WhoScored).
He has another two years left on his contract, but it looks as if he’d be reasonably cheap. The CIES Football Observatory value him between 10 and 15 million euros.
But not all Spurs fans, replying to @HotspurRelated, are convinced.
“He’s just another Winks”
“Can smell Steve Hitchen on this”
“This club isn’t serious”
@thfcsam_
“Heard many things about him. I really like the way the club scouts. Not necessarily big name signings but would be amazing for us.”
“Attacking/ defensive….cos we need both I think. Ndombele is getting better defensively and Højberg has been good.”
“Winks with physicality, that’s an upgrade”
Spurs fans couldn’t complain if it proves to be a modest fee, and Lukic could prove a more-than-capable squad player.
It speaks volumes that he’s been able to stand out in a struggling side, with Torino fighting for Serie A survival.
