Tottenham Hotspur’s Brazilian forward Richarlison has undergone another scan but the results have not offered any further hope of a shorter time on the sidelines.

This is according to Alasdair Gold who has been speaking about the 25-year-old’s injury latest on his YouTube channel ahead of the Premier League return.

Having excelled in the Qatar World Cup, Richarlison returned to Hotspur Way with a hamstring injury which scans have suggested will keep him out for around six weeks.

Starting with the club's £60m summer signing, which of these players could Richarlison be facing?

It was an impressive showing for Richarlison out in Qatar who showed the world what he is capable of with some stunning goals including that overhead kick in the group stages.

However, having undergone another scan, Gold believes there isn’t any fresh cause for optimism over an earlier return to the field for Richarlison:

(28:45) “From what I understand, since that scan, it’s still a timeframe of five to six weeks from the injury.”

TIF Thoughts on Gold’s comments…

This is a real shame for Spurs that Richarlison has returned with this injury given he finally seemed to have rediscovered his goalscoring form whilst away with Brazil.

Do Spurs need another forward in January?

No

And it is perhaps an even bigger frustration given Son Heung-min has recently suffered from illness since returning from Qatar and Harry Kane’s turnaround before Boxing Day will be incredibly short.

With Richarlison now expected to miss around six weeks, perhaps this could cause Conte to demand more reinforcement up top – especially given some of the injuries they experienced earlier in the season.
