James Tavernier has hinted he will be sticking around at Rangers following the Ibrox club’s long and memorable campaign and previous rumours regarding his future.

Rangers managed to end the season on a high, defeating Hearts at Hampden Park to secure their only silverware of the campaign after losing their league title and suffering defeat in the Europa League final on penalties, however, there was some more potential good news for the Gers on social media.

As the season draws to a close all over Europe, players and staff have been reflecting on another gruelling campaign, with many taking to social media to share their sentiments ahead of a well-earned break.

This is no different for Rangers skipper James Tavernier, who recently took to Instagram to share the following message:

“This season has had its ups and downs with a lot of emotions. I couldn’t be prouder of the players, The staff, the club and the fans who have given us unbelievable support all year. Memories along the way we’ll never forget.

“Enjoy your break. Can’t wait for next season.”

Last month, there was talk that Aston Villa were looking at Tavernier as ex-Gers boss Steven Gerrard looked to raid his former club. However, it does appear as if the full-back’s heart firmly remains in Glasgow.

How well do you remember where Rangers' signings came in from down the years? Take our quiz to find out! First up, Carlos Pena was the Gers' most expensive arrival during the summer of 2017, but where did he join from?

He has been instrumental to their success this season, playing a whopping 57 games in all competitions, finding the back of the net 18 times and setting 17 up for his teammates. His goal tally included seven goals in 13 Europa League clashes, so he was key to that glittering run. To have that impact from right-back shows how special he is to this Rangers side.
