Rangers defender Lee Wallace is edging closer to the exit door at Ibrox after undergoing a medical with Queens Park Rangers, according to Football Insider

The outlet report that the left-back’s contract is due to expire this month, and he is set to leave on a free transfer after eight years at Ibrox.

Football Insider also claim that a QPR source has told the outlet that Wallace is expected to complete his move to England next week after the international break.

The Scotsman has featured 262 times for Rangers over his spell with the club, yet only featured three times this season in all competitions for the Gers.

Good move for Rangers?

Yes, although the move was always going to happen with Wallace being out of contract shortly.

Although he is truly a fan favourite at the Ibrox, it seemed like it was the defender’s time to leave after being frozen out of the Rangers side over the past season.

He will always be remembered fondly amongst the Rangers fans, but his time has come at the Ibrox, and the move seems to have worked for both parties.

Likely to happen?

Although he will definitely leave the club, the destination is still currently unconfirmed.

It does seem likely that the 31-year old will make the move to QPR this summer, however there’s still a chance that he could move on a play his football elsewhere, it all just depends on the player’s preference.

If the sources are accurate however, then fans should expect the Rangers’ fan favourite to be a QPR player in the coming weeks.
