A number of Newcastle United fans have been left fuming after footage of Jacob Murphy missing a key opportunity emerged online.
Over the weekend, the Magpies travelled down south as they faced Watford in the Premier League. The fixture saw Steve Bruce’s men miss a series of clear chances to claim all three points on the day and this was best highlighted by the winger’s attempt late on.
In injury time, with the scores level at 1-1, Murphy raced through on goal with only Ben Foster to beat. He attempted a deft chip, but only succeeded in prodding the ball straight at the Watford ‘keeper.

The miss meant the game would finish all square, and when NUFC 360 shared a clip of that crucial late moment on Twitter, a collection of Newcastle supporters wholeheartedly expressed their frustrations.

There’s no denying just how upset these Magpies supporters are with the winger’s decision to try and chip Foster. The draw does at least see Newcastle move just above the relegation zone, but only on goal difference.
Still, had Murphy taken his chance, the club could be celebrating their first win of the season instead of lamenting a missed opportunity.
