A number of Celtic fans have expressed their concerns after it was revealed that Kyogo Furuhashi has been called up to the Japanese international squad.
In the upcoming international break, Japan will play against Saudi Arabia and Australia in a pair of World Cup qualifying matches.
Kyogo has missed a lot of football of late due to an issue with his knee – ironically suffered when he last played for his country.
In fact, until the club’s recent Europa League match against Bayer Leverkusen, he had not played a minute of football throughout the entirety of September.
Celtic writer John McGinley shared the information with his Twitter followers. With their key man having only just returned to fitness, it seems like a lot of these Celtic supporters are not so keen on seeing him jet off to play football elsewhere so soon.
Here’s what these Celtic fans had to say…
“He’s actually going to go and get injured again, man.”
Kyogo has been somewhat of a revelation since arriving in Scotland over the summer. He has scored seven goals and claimed one assist in his first 10 appearances at his new club, making him a fan-favourite already – as evidenced by the tweets above.
With this in mind, it’s easy to appreciate why these supporters are so worried at the idea of him being rushed back into international football.

However, it could also benefit the 26-year-old to get some more minutes under his belt before he returns to Celtic after the break.
