Former Everton star Michael Ball believes that Nathan Patterson has the ability to play in the Premier League if he does make the move to Goodison Park.

The Rangers right-back was linked with a potential move to the Toffees throughout the summer transfer window.

Of course, no deal in that window was completed, but reports continue to claim that the Toffees could look to swoop in the January window.

Will Benitez succeed at Everton?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Patterson is said to be valued at around £10m and he would be seen as a potential long-term replacement for Seamus Coleman.

A Scotland international with three caps to his name, the 19-year-old has somewhat struggled to make his breakthrough at Ibrox, as he is behind captain James Tavernier in the pecking order.

He has made a total of 18 appearances in the first-team, scoring twice.

But Ball thinks that he has the talent to make the jump to the Premier League, with a number of Rangers fans believing he is a real prospect.

He said: “I’m only going off what people are saying up there, that he’s really, really highly-rated. So you’ve got to listen to their opinions that the kid has got that ability to break into the Premier League and do well.

“So with the fee what it is, Everton would have to fork out the fee that Rangers want. They think he could be a long-term investment for the next 10 years.”
