Tottenham Hotspur should sell Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso to ensure they have the funds to buy a game-changing midfielder, according to Graham Roberts.
Ndombele has not been included in any of Spurs’ matchday squads so far this season despite being the north Londoners’ club-record signing since joining from French side Lyon for £63million two years ago.
The 24-year-old has told the club’s hierarchy he wants to depart before the transfer deadline passes at the end of the month.
Should Spurs sell Ndombele and Lo Celso?
Yes
No
Lo Celso, who completed a £27.2million transfer from Spanish outfit Real Betis following a loan spell with Spurs, has seen more action than fellow midfielder Ndombele this season.
But the Argentinian made just 11 Premier League starts last term as his progress was hampered by injuries.
Spurs have strengthened their squad with Pierluigi Gollini, Bryan Gil and Cristian Romero during the transfer window but club legend Roberts believes a creative midfielder, like former player Christian Eriksen, still needs to be drafted in, with Ndombele and Lo Celso heading out of the exit door.
He exclusively told TIF: “We need a creative midfield player. We have Dele Alli, who does create, but we need a player similar to Christian Eriksen.
“I would sell Ndombele and Lo Celso and buy one decent midfield player.”
