Many Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to slam the performance and result of Mark Jackson’s U23 side after their 3-1 defeat to Chelsea in Premier League 2 Division One action on Friday evening.

The visitors went into the lead inside 10 minutes, when central-defender Xavier Mbuyamba heading home from an in-swinging corner. After finding space once again, Mbuyamba made it two with another header with former Leeds midfielder Lewis Baker providing the assist with a back-post free-kick, allowing the central defender to climb highest again and head home for the Blues.

However, the Yorkshire outfit managed to strike back after Archie Gray burst forward, was fouled in the area and awarded a penalty, which Tyler Roberts calmly dispatched to reduce the deficit before the interval.

With Roberts and Sam Greenwood withdrawn during the break, and Joe Gelhardt and Charlie Allen coming on as their replacements for the home side, they ultimately lost 3-1 as Chelsea were awarded a penalty which Baker slotted home from 12-yards and secure all three points for his side.
