Ahead of the January transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Juventus ace Weston McKennie as Antonio Conte looks to strengthen his squad.
Tottenham will reportedly make the Juventus midfielder their number one target in January, after both Fabio Paratici and Conte agreed on his potential.
According to The Express, Conte and Paratici are in agreement when it comes to McKennie and Spurs are now expected to progress with their attempts to do a deal to sign the American in January, with the Lilywhites boss considering the dynamic midfielder to be the modern day version of Arturo Vidal.
Furthermore, as cited within Calciomercato, Juventus value the American star within the region of €30-35 million Euros, before outlining that Premier League rivals West Ham are also reportedly interested in securing the 23 year old’s signature.
Should Spurs sign McKennie?
Yes!
No!
The links linking the north London club to the USA international has subsequently seen Spurs fans take to Twitter.
What did these Spurs fans make of the transfer link?
“Ohh no”
Should be chasing Kessie from AC Milan. The recruitment in this club is utterly useless
“Can’t understand this, when the best CM playing in Europe (Frank Kiesse) is also on the market! Stop fooling around guys and go get Kiesse”
With the likes of Harry Winks, Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele futures at the North London club remaining to be seen, while Oliver Skipp is still a young player learning the game. Despite these Spurs fans dismay at the transfer links to the American, McKennie could represent an astute signing in the middle of the park.
Fruthermore, McKennie is well known to Conte and Paratici and ultimately, this is what Conte will want, players who he knows he can entrust and who he knows can improve his squad.
