We thought we had seen the back of this Arsenal flop for good…
Just when you thought that this summer couldn’t get any stranger, another shocking transfer rumour comes out that you have to read twice just to understand.
According to the Daily Mail, ex-Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner could be set for a shock return to English football. You heard that right.
After over 100 games with the Gunners between 2005 and 2014 (yes, he was there for that long), the Dane found himself in Germany, with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.
He was disappointing at best there and his contract was subsequently terminated one year before it’s expiry date in the summer 2017 after a number of controversies.
This is where QPR come in – with the 28-year-old available on a free, Jimmy Floyd Hasslebaink is reportedly interested in bringing the Danish international back to England.
For the Rs fans out there, the prospect of his potential signing does not make for good reading, as this table, courtesy of whoscored.com, shows…
In his near two-year spell with Wolfsburg he managed just 33 league appearances, with just 9 Bundesliga starts – bagging a disappointing 3 goals.
Not the sort of record that will be necessary to fire the West London outfit back into the Premier League this season.
And if QPR fans needed any more reason to be worried about this prospective signing, take a look at this video that has aptly been titled “funny moments”…
If you have enough moments in your career that are so ridiculous that they need a compilation video, that clearly doesn’t bode well for your footballing talents.
QPR Fans – How angry would you be if this signing occurred? Is there anyone out there that would like this deal to go ahead?
