Trusting Pierluigi Gollini between the sticks for now, Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce could move to sign Hull City goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic in the January transfer window, report the Birmingham Mail.
Becoming Bruce’s first signing as Tigers boss back in July 2012, the once-capped Swiss international is somebody the Villans manager knows well
With David Marshall now the number one at the KCOM Stadium, Jakupovic has been an unused substitute in Hull City’s last six Premier League games after beginning the season from the start.
Having been frequently linked with Manchester United’s third choice goalkeeper Sam Johnstone throughout the Autumn, Jakupovic represents an alternative target although it remains to be seen whether Mike Phelan will make him available.
Perhaps a lot will depend on the injury progress made by Allan McGregor who had been ruled out for six months back in July.
As for Aston Villa who currently sit 14th in the Championship, chairman Tony Xia has already claimed that Steve Bruce will receive assistance in the forthcoming transfer window.
