Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to the sight of Giovani Lo Celso in training as the Argentine midfielder edges ever closer to a return to first-team action.
The former Paris Saint-Germain man hasn’t featured for Spurs since their 2-0 defeat at the hands of Leicester City back in December due to a hamstring injury.
However, following Tottenham’s 4-0 thrashing of Burnley over the weekend, Jose Mourinho claimed the 24-year-old could be involved in their upcoming clash against Crystal Palace.
It would be a timely boost for the north London side, who are currently chasing Champions League qualification, and the reaction on the club’s official Twitter account to a snap of him in training suggests their supporters are eagerly awaiting Lo Celso’s return:
“Great to see Gio back on the training pitch. Ease him back in. We need him at peak fitness as we enter the business end of the season.”
“Can’t wait for when he’s back!!”
“FINAAALLLLYYYYYY. Welcome back Gio”
“longest pl win streak incoming”
“Need that Gio – Hojberg – Ndombele midfield asapppp”
“We need him back. With the likes of Bergwijn, we’ve become mid-table mediocrity again”
There is no doubting Lo Celso’s talent, and the South American star should be a significant boost in their search for European football.
