Newcastle United fans have been reacting to a claim about the future of loanee Joe Willock.
The 21-year-old has been in impressive form since his move to St James’ Park from Arsenal in the January transfer window, scoring five goals that helped play a massive part in Newcastle’s successful attempt to stay in the Premier League, but what his future holds for him next season is still unknown.
Although by the sounds of it, it won’t be at The Emirates with The Guardian reporting that Willock, along with a number of other players at the club are set to be jettisoned this summer, with Willock’s asking price reportedly set at £20m.
This news was relayed to Newcastle fans via local newspaper The Chronicle and by journalist Mark Douglas, but there didn’t seem to be much enthusiasm amongst them when they read it, as they didn’t feel the club would be able to get the deal over the line:
“We’ll do the usual faffing all summer in the hope he goes elsewhere and not having to spend. “We tried”.”
Do you think Newcastle can sign Willock?
Yes, we have a good chance
No, we don't have a chance
Obviously, they don’t have much faith in the club following a number of failed moves in the past.
