On the latest edition of The View from The Lane podcast journalist Jack Pitt-Brooke has been discussing all things Tottenham Hotspur related.
Spurs lost on the weekend to Leeds United which put yet another dent in their hopes of qualifying for European football ahead of next season as they could slump down to eighth before they next play.
Will Spurs wait till after the Euros to appoint a manager?
Yes
No
The club’s search for a permanent manager continues after Daniel Levy ended Jose Mourinho’s 17-month stint at the north London side last month. Ryan Mason has taken interim charge of the side until the end of the season as rumours continue to surround who will be the next permanent manager.
Pitt-Brooke was able to provide Spurs fans with some cause for optimism as he suggested there may well be some money available to pay for the candidate Levy wants.
He said (15:45): “I guess one good bit of news is that I know some people have speculated that there wouldn’t be any money for the new candidate.
“Well, we’ve heard that I don’t think money is going to be a big problem. It’s not like Spurs are only looking at people who are currently out of work. I think that partially explains the timetable, you know, in the sense that if they were only looking at candidates who are out of work, then they could do all their looking now.
“But obviously, because they will be looking at candidates who are in work that’s why an announcement is probably likely after the end of the season, because they would want to be interviewing people who are currently coaching other teams.”
TIF Thoughts on Tottenham’s manager search…
Following Julian Nagelsmann’s appointment as the new Bayern Munich manager and Erik ten Hag’s contract extension, it feels like Spurs fans may well be waiting until after the season now to find out who their next manager will be.
A number of names have been linked with the job and even with Ten Hag and Nagelsmann out of the picture now, Spurs fans will be pleased to hear there are funds available to bring the desired candidate in. Although Spurs fans will have their favourite as to who they want to see on the touchline for next season, they will also want it to be announced as soon a possible so he can have as much time as possible with his new quad.
