On the latest episode of The Molineux View podcast, journalist Tim Spiers has been discussing all things related to Wolves after their victory on the weekend.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side beat Graham Potter’s Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 at Molineux on Sunday to take them just three points off Aston Villa with three games left of the season.

However, on the podcast, Spiers discussed Wolves’ plans for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Wolves have suffered horrifically through injuries to key players this season and in the case of Raul Jimenez, they have been unable to replace their injured starters with adequate replacements.

Discussing Wolves’ approach to the upcoming transfer market, Spiers commented on what Espirito Santo will be hoping to improve.

He said (28:40): “They’re looking to freshen things up. And you know, my understanding is that while Nuno said a couple of weeks ago, they want to improve the squad and they want a bigger squad.

“It’s the first team they’re looking at this summer, from conversations I’ve had it’s the first XI that they’re looking to improve first and foremost. Which I think fans will be happy to hear.”

TIF Thoughts on Spiers’ comments…

The issues Wolves have had with injuries has been well-reported and it has certainly had an effect on their season to date as they have failed to live up to the standards they set for themselves in the 2019/20 Premier League season.

From what Spiers has said, it sounds like the Wanderers will be banking on their side not suffering another season of injuries. Although there may be an area or two where they could significantly improve in the XI, should Espirito Santo’s focus not be on his squad depth.
