Pundit Marcus Bent has recently urged Tammy Abraham to return to Aston Villa in the summer.

Abraham has been struggling for action at Chelsea this season, having played only 1033 Premier League minutes for the side and scoring a total of six goals in the process (as per Transfermarkt).

It has been reported that Leicester City are interested in taking the Englishman to the King Power Stadium in the summer and Chelsea are open to selling the striker as well, with other clubs also keeping an eye on him.

Do you think Villa should move for Abraham?

Bent was talking to Transfer Tavern about Abraham’s future and he believes that a move to Villa or West Ham would be ideal for the former Swansea man.

He said: “He spent a little bit of time at Villa and done quite well. But the price tag they have put on his head is unbelievable for someone who isn’t playing.

“But again, those price tags are getting thrown about everywhere. Of course, he wants to stay at Chelsea, but I think the best club for me would be Villa or West Ham.

“Villa, great stadium, great city and I think if he was to go there, he would be one of the key players for their stability and scoring goals. And that’s what players thrive on, and we know he can score a goal, he plays for his country, so Villa or West Ham for me.”

First up in this Gareth Barry quiz, which club did Villa sign the midfielder from?

TIF Thoughts on Abraham to Villa…

During his loan stint at Villa, Abraham indeed impressed for the side by finding the back of the net 25 times in just 37 Championship games for the club. He even racked up three assists, scoring once in the Championship play-offs (as per Transfermarkt).

That is clearly a positive sign but having said that, Villa did spend a club record £28 million to sign Ollie Watkins last summer and Abraham is reportedly valued at £40 million by Chelsea. So spending big money to sign another striker after just a season may not make sense for Villa.
